| Minister of Youth and Sports shakes hands with VB players before their departure Male’, MALDIVES – VB Addu FC has departed to Lebanon to play against Lebanon’s Al Ahed in the AFC Cup group C match. The match will be played on 7th March in Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium, Beirut. Speaking to maldivesoccer.com before the departure, VB’s coach, Can Vanli said that the team has had a good preparation for the tournament and they are leaving for a win. “We might be the underdogs here. But we have prepared well for the tournament and we are going there for a win. There is nothing more in our mind than a win” Al Ahed qualified to AFC Cup after winning the Lebanese Premier League and Lebanese FA Cup. VB Addu also qualified to the tournament after winning Dhiraagu Dhivehi League and winning the FA Cup. Minister of Youth and Sports, FAM officials and club members were present to bid farewell to the team. |
