STO raises fuel prices by 65 Laari

A petrol station in Male: STO has increased its petrol and diesel prices by 65 Laari with effect from today.

State Trading Organization (STO) has increased its petrol and diesel prices by 65 Laari with effect from today.
The largest fuel importer in the Maldives STO increased its diesel prices from 15.03 Laari per litre to 15.68 Laari while petrol prices went up from 15.03 Laari to 15.67 Laari.

A press release by STO stated that the fuel prices had been increased in accordance with a hike in the international market.

“The hike in prices was due as the market price of the imported fuel prices increased considerably, which includes the increased petrol shipment prices imported, within a month’s time.” STO said.

STO had reduced its fuel prices on the 4th of last month, Rf1.17 by petrol litre and 62 Laari per diesel litre, reducing both the fuel prices to Rf15.03 per litre.

Fuel prices have soared due to the rising tension between the US and Iran. An oil barrel costs USD 100 in the international market.
